Women's rugby is a sport which is growing daily and is growing at such a rate where we can't keep up with the latest events and information without something in particular - social media.

In the media, we often see men's sports be prioritised, and we have seen this recently through BBC two's showing of 'Flog it!', instead of showing one of England's games, England vs Italy last Saturday. However, the shocking part of this is not that they chose not to show the fixture, the shocking part of it was the fact that that episode of 'flog it' was several years old and had been shown on television at least 6 times beforehand.

In response to this, an avid rugby fan started a petition which aims to persuade the BBC to show women's rugby games. The petition is here - http://chng.it/Lt7hr2pykV . This petition has reached over 4,000 signatures already and only needs a couple of hundred more to reach the goal of 5,000. If you could sign and share, this would be much appreciated.

I know you're probably wondering, what can I do to support the growth of women's rugby? And the answer is a simple, yet effective one. You could start by watching the games, from the Allianz premier 15's to the six nations. The AP15's games are often live streamed on the England rugby's youtube page, or on each club's individual youtube channels. You can also show your support on social media, share your thoughts with friends/family.

Take the opportunity to strive for equality, seek out advice if you need it, use equal gender visibility on your social pages. Your small steps will help lead to more opportunities for those who want to play a sport achieve their goal/s.

Remember to commit to change.
