21st August 2021 was a very special day for me, a day to be remembered for a long while. It was the first live rugby match I had attended in around 7-8 months, crazy right! Not only this, but funnily enough it was the first time I had ever been on a train in my 16 years of life!
The day started for me at around 7 am, as I had to get ready for the day ahead, make sure to have eaten breakfast, and many other factors I had to take into account before leaving the house at around 8.
I arrived at my friend's house where we took a short drive to the local train station with a few other people and then headed toward Exeter. Once reaching Exeter, we went for brunch at a restaurant in town, where we had to listen to the cheers of Bristol Rovers football fans who were in for the Exeter City game!
On the train to Digby we went, then took the brisk walk over the wobbly bridge over to the stadium, we were finally there to watch Exeter Chiefs vs Wasps in a preseason!
After what felt like several times switching seats to get the best view possible, we finally settled and watched the game unfold.
Tackles, tries, penalties, the stadium was so alive! I loved the atmosphere, the chants and sways of the crowd really brought the energy!
Unfortunately, the game finished 18-14 to Wasps, but both teams put out incredible performances and it was a great spectacle into what this season would look like in the Allianz Premier 15's.
I was lucky enough to catch a few of the players on the way out of the stadium and managed to snap a photo with each one.
