The best of... my Instagram

Writer's picture: ashleighrugbyashleighrugby

Ever since I began posting on my Instagram, specifically for rugby, I've gained 361 followers and I've had many interactions with my photos/videos.

So, in today's blog, I've decided to do my top 3 posts by interaction, and I'm going to rate them by how difficult they were to write, how many likes, views etc.

Let's get started!

  • The #icare post. This post was one of my favourites that I've ever written, because in the time I was writing, it was prevalent and so I was caught in the moment of writing. I remember it frustrating me so much that some mysognistic boys chose to comment that no one cared - didn't we prove you all wrong?

  • The 'safety risk' post. When seeing the proposed assessment of trans women to determine if they are a 'safety risk' to others, I was absolutely outraged and I knew that I had to use my, small, platform to try and encourage others to sign a survey that protested against this. It was a hard one to write, yes, because I knew I would never be in that situation, but I had to do something about it, so I did.

  • The 6-year-old me post. Going through old photos and chatting with friends led me to realise that as a young girl growing up I never knew I could be a woman in sport, simply because it was never in the media. I've committed myself to making a change in women's sport, and I hope you'll join me in this.

There you have it, three of my favourite and most interacted with posts. I try and post regularly on my instagram, so if you fancy giving it a follow, my user is @ashleigh.rugby !

See you next week for another blog!
